About

The Full Story

Jerry Khoo’s journey commenced with a fundamental belief: transport transcends mere roads and bridges; it’s the lifeline that connects people, communities, and opportunities. Over 18 years ago, as a newly graduated civil engineer, Jerry was inspired to engage in projects that extended beyond technical design. His ambition was to develop infrastructure that empowered people, particularly in developing nations and underserved communities.

One of his initial experiences on a rural road project in the Pacific revealed to him the transformative of accessible transport. He witnessed firsthand how a single bridge could connect remote villages to essential services such as schools, markets, and healthcare, thereby unlocking new opportunities for entire communities. This experience ignited Jerry's passion for utilising his expertise to enhance the accessibility, equity, and sustainability of transport, fostering human flourishing even in the most isolated regions of the world.

Currently, as the founder of his own consultancy, Jerry remains committed to this mission. His firm is founded on the principles of compassion, innovation, and impact, focusing on delivering solutions that not only adhere to technical standards but also uplift communities. Whether designing climate-resilient infrastructure in Fiji, enhancing road safety in Vanuatu, or developing sustainable transport systems in New Zealand, Jerry’s work is driven by a profound commitment to creating a world where everyone has access to safe, reliable, and affordable transport.

For Jerry, infrastructure encompasses more than concrete and steel; it represents the construction of pathways to a better future. His consultancy is dedicated to projects that empower individuals, safeguard the planet, and facilitate human flourishing.

KiwiRail EM80 Review

About Me.

I have over 18 years of integrated transport planning experience across New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and several countries in the Asia Pacific. My experience spans across policy development, investment planning and decision-making framework, business case development, and economics analysis.

I possess a deep understanding of the transport sector and its challenges, supported by a broad base of knowledge in transport economics. This enables me to craft strategy and guidance through sound economic analysis. I am skilled in advising on strategic approaches to finance and funding for transport projects and have a strong grasp of various appraisal methods, including cost-benefit analysis.

My inclusion in the ADB expert panel for Infrastructure Planning and Investment for 2025-2028 is a testament to my experience and capability to transport infrastructure planning in the Pacific.
